In Greer v The Sun, IPSO found no accuracy breach. It explained that Clause 12 protected identifiable individuals and did not cover the group references at issue. It expressly distinguished its remit from criminal-law questions.

Interpretation limits
A decision that the discrimination clause was not engaged is not an endorsement of the language. IPSO did not adjudicate criminal liability. Separate criminal or employment proceedings concerning Hopkins are not attached to this column.
